James Hazlerig, MA, is a hypnotist, author, meditation teacher, professional musician, and champion storyteller.
In his Austin practice, he helps clients quit smoking, manage stress, and overcome fear. He has taught anger management for Austin Recovery, mental freedom at the Travis County jail, the history of hypnosis for the Hypnosis Practitioner Training Institute, and storytelling at HypnoThoughts Live.
For fun, he performs Celtic music at Renaissance festivals and comedy stage hypnosis while dressed as a pirate. He has edited a number of books on hypnosis and co-authored Speak Ericksonian with Richard Nongard. In summer 2014, he released a storytelling album called Trunk to Tale: Hypnotic Stories for Growth and Healing.
He lives in the wilds of Bastrop County on six-and-a-half acres of pine forest along with his wife and an astounding number of animals. In addition to being known for making stones dance, he is famous for having created the cutest anti-smoking PSA ever.
